Whether you’re new to the mat or a seasoned practitioner, these classes are for all.
A little about who I am, what Slowfire represents, and what to expect from our practices together.
I first started practicing yoga around 5 years ago, with no real expectations, preconceptions or goals in mind. I was simply trying something new with a friend for the fun of it. However, something in me changed and that ‘trying yoga’ quickly settled itself into a routine that has only rooted itself deeper into my life today.
What started as a mostly physical practice for me with dynamic hot vinyasa classes making up almost all of my classes, it’s in the more recent years that I’ve begun to become more aware of the other elements of my life that yoga touches. From the power of slowing down to developing a more grounded awareness of my body and its thoughts, yoga has become the compass that leads me through my day-to-day life.
At the start of 2026 I embarked on my 200hr Yoga Teacher Training to pursue a curiosity on the anatomical side of yoga and begin to pull back the curtain on the philosophical side of the practice. Whilst my original intentions weren’t centred around teaching, it quickly became clear to me that I was uncovering a passion that I wanted to share with others. Each time I guided people through asanas, breathwork or meditation, that passion took hold more and more until there was no path clearer than the one that I am on now.
Outside of yoga (although I’m not sure that exists now) you’ll likely find me lost in nature, dancing at a music festival, reading books, poetry and anything in-between, or simply spending time with the people I love.
I am a firm believer that yoga has something for everyone. Meeting you where you are, with what you need, at any given moment of your life. It’s an honour to be in a position to help others find the same strength, resilience and calm that I found (and I’m still discovering now) on the mat. I look forward to seeing you soon!
From the get-go it’s been clear to me that I want to build a space that is more than simply yoga or movement. Whilst ‘wellness’ has a lot of connotations around it in today’s culture, it’s truer than ever that wellness is a unique combination of elements - practices, community, rest, self-understanding...
Slowfire is here to be a home for that. A space for sustained, deliberate transformation. It’s the idea that to find empowerment and change within ourselves we have to cultivate an ember that is true to who we are and not simply light a wildfire that eventually burns us out.
